5 beliefs Cameron Locke
– Help better the environment. – Do well in school. -Never give up.
– You can do anything you set your mind to. – Don’t give in to peer pressure.
One of the main beliefs I have obtained throughout my life is to try to avoid and not give in to peer pressure. This belief came to me my freshman year of high school, just around the time when other students started offering me things like alcohol, cigarettes, and other tobacco products. Having played baseball during high school, I was very much exposed to products, such as dipping tobacco and chewing tobacco, which were very popular amongst most of the players. The first time I was offered any, it was on a bus ride to an away game. I almost felt like I had to say yes to fit in, but I refused and have been happy with that decision ever since. That was the first time I was really offered anything bad, and after that experience I decided that I would never give in to any type of peer pressure. This experience really made me realize I do have the power to not give into peer pressure and it brought me to believe that I can make my own decisions.
