I felt like my conference with Charlie on Monday went pretty well. He gave me a lot of great ideas and tips to help me improve my work. He also pointed out a few grammatical errors that I could not even catch after reading the paper over a few times. I feel like a have a very clear idea of what I need to do for my final draft to have it ready in December.
My plans between now and when the final draft is due is to examine my story closer. I feel like I need to read each sentence individually and look for errors or ways I can improve on it. Another thing I will work on is to try and grab the readers attention from the beginning. I will do this by bringing senses into the story and really make the reader feel like they are in whatever situation I am describing. Finally, I will try and vary my vocabulary a little bit. I noticed throughout my paper, I used many of the same words to describe different situations. Overall, I think my conference went very well and I learned many good tips on how to improve my paper and become a better writer.
