My favorite story of all time is the television show “Two and a Half Men”, I have probably seen every episode over the 8 seasons it has been around, and I continue to watch it in it’s 9th season. This is my favorite story because I love the mix of characters in the show and the way they interact and how they mesh together. The plot started off with Alan, who is played by Jon Cryer, and his son Jake, going to live with his brother, Charlie, after going through a separation and eventual divorce with his wife. Charlie, who was played by Charlie Sheen, takes them into his home but is not happy about it at all. The relationship between Charlie and Alan was very sour, yet loving, which I feel most people with siblings can relate to. The plot changed after season 8, which was when Charile Sheen left the show and was killed off. He was replaced by Walden Schmidt, played by Ashton Kutcher, who is a billionare but is going through a divorce. Walden purchases Charlie’s old house, but Alan and Jake continue to live there, as well.
The point of view changes throughout the show, so there really is no set point of view, it usually is first-person, but changes by character depending on the episode. The dialog is very funny and seemed very banter-like between Charlie and Alan. With Walden and Alan, the dialog seems more mellow because they get along better than Charlie and Alan did. The setting mostly takes place in Malibu,CA, but sometimes takes place in various parts of Los Angeles. I think the settings add to the story because it shows the wealthiness and care-free, casual lifestyle that Charlie lived. Overall, I think Two and a Half Men is a terrific and humorous show that I will continue to watch as long as it airs.
