Above, is the final draft to my personal narrative about my experiences and observations with dipping and chewing tobacco. The process to writing this paper was relatively simple, all I had to do was basically recall past events that happened a few years ago and recall how I felt about them when they happened. It was a little bit difficult remembering every little detail about the events I wrote about, but I eventually remembered everything. When you gave the prompt of “Write about one belief that you have and the experience behind that certain belief”, it took me a while to figure out what I was going to write about, but once I figured out my topic, it was smooth sailing from there. I wanted to write about something that had a large impact on my life, as well as the lives of others. I feel like my life was a lot less impacted than the people who were actually developing mouth cancer as a result of dipping and chewing, but the experience still had a big influence on my life.
The changes I made to the final draft compared to the third draft were small, but important. I tried to use more imagery and appeal to the senses more in the final draft compared to the third draft. Also, I clarified and explained the differences as well as the similarities between dipping and chewing, which were not clarified in the third draft. Another thing I did was include more examples of why tobacco can be dangerous and the many harms it can do to your body. Finally, one last thing I did in my final draft that I did not do in my third draft was INDENT. I hope you enjoy my personal narrative about my experiences with dipping and chewing tobacco.
